A new book, “The Omni Diet“, was one of the books I flipped through at the store the other day. It appears to be yet another low-calorie, lean meat and vegetables-type diet.
The recipes on the website actually make my job easy here. Let’s add up the calories for a typical day’s meals. I am just pulling up the first recipes for each category.
- Breakfast – Brainy Breakfast Burrito – 310 calories
- Snack #1 – Root Beer Float – 50 calories
- Lunch – Amazing Apple Cinnamon Chicken Salad – 239 calories
- Snack #2 – Coco Banana Treat – 187 calories
- Dinner – Chopped Salad with Shrimp Scampi – 209 calories
Grand total: 995 calories!
Folks, I am not making this up. The recipes are right there on the website, and you can see that they are all in this calorie range.
So there you have it. Step right up and get your 1,000 calories of lean meat and vegetables! Will a person lose weight? How could they not??
I actually submitted a comment on their website last week (not been approved yet) asking if they thought it was healthy to consume 1,000 calories a day over the long-term. No response yet.
